With the number of talented musical artistes in Nigeria, it is quite difficult to make a top artiste list. However, some artistes have worked harder than most and established themselves as the best in the industry.

Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy is undoubtedly the hottest musician in Nigeria at the moment. After releasing his third studio album titled Outside in 2018, Burna Boy’s reputation grew rapidly both home & abroad.

The album which featured hit track Heavens Gate and national anthem, Ye, was the springboard for his success. Burna Boy went on to release hit tracks: Gbona & On The Low later that same year. He also held his first headline concert in Lagos in December 2018.

Not resting on his oars, the artiste sold out the O2 Indigo for his first UK concert and released another smashing hit single, Dangote in 2019. The artiste was also recently featured on Youtube Music Artist Spotlight series.

Davido (full name David Adeleke) is a force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry. After struggling to make an impact in his early days, Davido finally established himself in 2017 with a string of back to back hits.

He continued his good streak in 2018 with hit singles like Assurance, Nwa Baby & Wonder Woman. He also held his first headline concert at the O2 in February 2019. The DMW boss was rewarded for his brilliance with the Best African Act award at the 2018 BET.

Wizkid sold out the 20,000 capacity O2 arena in the UK that year and also headlined three concerts in Lagos & Abuja, all of which were also sold out. Mr. Eazi released his sophomore EP, Lagos To London Vol 2, which was well received especially in the UK where the artiste has a strong fanbase. He finished 2018 as the most streamed Nigerian artist on Spotify.

Olamide a.k.a Baddo is a force to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry. Since he broke into the scene in 2010 with his hit single, EniDuro, Olamide has risen to become one of Nigeria’s biggest music act. In 2018, Olamide released the smash hit, Science Student, and followed it up with hit singles, Kana, Motigbana & Poverty Die which was released as part of a joint album by his record label, YBNL.

In 2019, Falz released his 3rd studio Album, Moral Instruction, in anticipation of the upcoming general elections in Nigeria. The 9 track album was inspired by famous tracks from musical legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. Each track was used to address several social vices which have become a mainstay in the country.

Falz also sparked public discussion in 2018 when he released This is Nigeria, his take on the This is America track by Childish Gambino. Falz is now being touted as the next Fela.

In November 2017, Kizz Daniel announced his split from his former record label, G-Worldwide. This led to a messy lawsuit which was later resolved in May 2018 after Kizz Daniel was found not guilty.

Kizz Daniel returned back to the studio and released chart-topping singles like No Do, 4Dayz & One Ticket (ft. Davido). He also released his 2nd studio album, No Bad Songz, which was released under his new record label, Fly Boy Entertainment.

In 2019, Kizz Daniel released hit track Fvck You which sparked the Fvck You Challenge that has been making waves on social media.
